A vintage Airstream is beautiful on its own, but it loses its shiny look over time. For our project, we cleared the land, removed debris and bamboo, and prepared the exterior. Next, we polished the body, giving this living trailer a fresh, shiny finish and a stunning new feature. With the exterior ready, we started building the deck.
Step-by-Step: How We Build an Airstream Deck
Our team designed and constructed a unique, durable Airstream deck for modern outdoor living.
- Leveled the floor by removing wheel arches.
- Cut, cleaned, painted, filled, and reinstalled wheels.
- Connected city water, 110v power, and drain system.
- Installed on six jacks for weather stability.
- Built a front deck from durable garapa wood with entry steps and a rear deck with an outdoor shower.

Rear Deck with Outdoor Shower
Inside the trailer, there’s very little space, so we avoided overcrowding it. Outside, however, we had extensive room for creativity and art. That’s why we built a rear deck from garapa wood. This material is perfect for outdoor use:
- bright,
- non-slip,
- moisture-resistant,
- fade-resistant.
On the rear deck, we installed a shower, a box with AC, and a water heater. We also added hooks for towels and shower accessories. For the owner, this is the perfect place to enjoy a shower privately while staying close to nature.
