- Remove Excess Water. If there’s standing water in the sink, use a cup or small container to remove as much as possible.
- Plunge the Sink. Use a small sink plunger to try and dislodge the clog. Place the plunger over the drain and pump it up and down several times.
- Use Baking Soda and Vinegar. Pour one-third cup of baking soda down the drain, followed by one-third cup of vinegar. Let it sit for about 15 minutes, then flush with hot water.
- Try a Drain Cleaner. If the clog persists, use a drain cleaner specifically designed for RVs. Follow the instructions on the product carefully.
- Use a Snake or Auger. Insert a drain snake or auger into the drain and turn it to break up or pull out the clog. Be gentle to avoid damaging the pipes.
- Dismantle the Plumbing Under the Sink. If the clog is still not cleared, you may need to remove the U-shaped pipe (P-trap) under the sink. Place a bucket underneath to catch any water, then loosen the fittings and remove the pipe. Clean out any debris and reassemble.
- Test the Drain. Run water to ensure the clog is cleared and check for any leaks.
By following these steps, you should be able to unclog your RV sink and get it draining properly again.
