This project shows a complete RV solar and electrical upgrade from start to finish. Our photos and videos cover every major stage of the 6-panel RV solar system installation. Components of the RV Solar and Electrical System
This system combines solar generation, lithium storage, charging, protection, and smart monitoring.
- 6 × RICH SOLAR 250W monocrystalline solar panels with roof mounting hardware.
- 4 × Redodo 12V 410Ah LiFePO4 batteries, providing 1,640Ah total capacity.
- Victron MultiPlus-II 3000VA inverter/charger.
- Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/85 solar charge controller.
- Victron Orion XS 50A DC-to-DC charger.
- Victron Lynx Distributor and SmartShunt 500A battery monitor.
- 50A shore power inlet and upgraded AC/DC distribution panel.
- Heavy-duty cables, disconnect switches, breakers, and system protection.
- Starlink roof mount and Furrion Vision S+ three-camera system.

How Custom Way Installed the Complete RV Power System
Our goal was to build one integrated power system for a 2024 Grand Design Momentum 23G. We also connected it with a 2026 RAM 3500 for charging while driving.
- We upgraded the trailer from 30A to 50A shore power.
- Next, we prepared the front compartment for batteries and Victron equipment.
- We installed four 410Ah lithium batteries and the main power components.
- Then, we mounted six solar panels and connected them through the MPPT controller.
- We added DC-to-DC charging from the RAM 3500.
- Finally, we connected monitoring, protection, A/C, Starlink, and camera systems.
After installation, we configured and tested the complete system under real loads. You can watch the detailed installation process in the video below.
Final Result: A Fully Integrated RV Solar and Electrical System
The finished system combines solar charging, lithium battery storage, shore power, and alternator charging.
Power flows through Victron equipment, while protection and monitoring keep the system organized and easy to manage. Inside the RV, the upgraded setup supports major loads, including the A/C system.
