Custom Way recently completed an Airstream Classic body repair project. This trailer needed several exterior parts replaced for a proper factory-style fit. We installed a new roadside segment, glass, rock guard, moldings, and other hardware. Below, we show the repair process in detail.

Airstream Classic Body Repair: What We Replaced
This Airstream Classic needed repairs to several exterior components. One key issue was the roadside segment located below the window. Someone had previously made this part from a regular aluminum sheet. However, the replacement did not match the original body shape.
The original segment has a specific curved form in two directions. Therefore, a flat aluminum sheet cannot provide the correct fit. We removed the previous part and installed a proper replacement segment.
During this Airstream Classic exterior repair, we completed the following work:
- Replaced the roadside aluminum segment below the window
- Installed new glass
- Replaced the upper glass protection
- Installed a new rock guard
- Replaced the aluminum body moldings
- Installed new rubber inserts inside the moldings
- Replaced hinges, locks, bolts, handles, and small hardware
- Replaced the lower plastic bumper section
Finally, we checked the replaced components and their fit. The repaired area now has the correct shape and matching exterior details.
