Step 1. Removing Old Coating and Preparing the Roof
First, we removed the deteriorated roof coating using mechanical sanding tools. Next, we cleaned the surface to eliminate dust and loose particles. This preparation improves adhesion and prevents the new coating from peeling.
Step 2. Sealing Roof Edges and Openings
Roof seams, edges, and openings require additional protection against water infiltration. We applied sealant to vulnerable joints and connections around roof fixtures. These areas often develop leaks when old sealant cracks or loses adhesion.
Step 3. Applying a New Protective Roof Coating
We used Dicor roof coating to restore the Airstream’s protective roof surface. Using a roller, we spread the white coating evenly across the prepared area. Dicor offers flexible roof coatings designed to resist moisture, UV exposure, and temperature changes. The coating also provides a reflective finish that helps reduce solar heat absorption.
