The owner wanted to add more sleeping space without changing the RV they already enjoyed. The area above the driver and passenger seats was unused, so it became the perfect place for an extra bed. Our goal was to create a comfortable sleeping area while keeping the existing interior layout practical and easy to use.
How We Built and Installed the RV Electric Bed Lift
We designed and manufactured a custom RV electric bed lift specifically for this motorhome. The frame was built from aluminum, which keeps the structure lightweight while providing the strength needed for daily use. The finished bed can support up to 300 kg and includes a custom-made mattress sized for the new sleeping area. We installed the electric lifting system above the driver and passenger seats, allowing the bed to lower when needed and move back up to free the cab area. The complete project took around two weeks and cost $7,500, including parts, materials, and labor.
