Pop Up Trailer Roof Rebuild by Custom Way

This project shows how Custom Way restored a severely damaged pop-up trailer roof from the frame up. The entire repair took seven days. Our pop-up trailer roof rebuild included a stronger wood frame, insulation, fiberglass, new wiring, lighting, and a roof fan. Below, see detailed photos from each repair stage, compare the before-and-after result, and watch the full rebuilding process on video.

Pop Up Trailer Roof Before Repair

Before repair, this pop-up trailer roof had severe structural and interior damage. The ceiling panels were torn, the roof surface was worn, and key sections could no longer be restored safely. Therefore, we planned a full pop up trailer roof replacement. We removed the damaged roof and prepared to rebuild the frame from scratch, following factory dimensions while making the new structure stronger.

How We Rebuilt the Pop Up Trailer Roof

To rebuild the roof correctly, we removed it completely from the trailer. The work was completed on tables inside our repair shop. This roof is not designed to support technicians during repairs.

For the pop up trailer roof rebuild, we used:

  • Dry, high-quality wood for the new reinforced frame
  • Foam insulation inside the roof structure
  • 3 mm fiberglass for the exterior surface
  • Original aluminum edge moldings
  • New electrical wiring
  • A new roof fan
  • New interior and exterior lights
  • White laminated plywood for the interior ceiling finish

We followed the original factory dimensions while strengthening the new frame. After assembly, we installed the rebuilt roof back onto the trailer. Watch the detailed video below to see the complete repair process step by step.

Pop Up Trailer Roof After Replacement

After the pop up trailer roof replacement, the trailer received a completely rebuilt roof structure. The exterior now has a clean fiberglass surface with restored edge moldings and new roof lights. Inside, white laminated plywood creates a smooth finished ceiling. We also installed new wiring, interior lighting, and a roof fan. The finished roof keeps the original dimensions while using a stronger frame and updated materials throughout the structure.
