RV Holding Tank to Residential Sewer Conversion

RV Holding Tank to Residential Sewer Conversion

If your RV or travel trailer stays permanently on your property, holding tanks may become inconvenient. Black and gray tanks require regular maintenance. They can also develop clogs and unpleasant odors. Even with sewer access, the tanks still need regular emptying.

At Custom Way LLC, we convert stationary RVs and trailers to direct residential-style sewer systems. This solution creates a more practical plumbing setup for long-term stationary living.

You can see photos from this RV sewer conversion project below.

Turn Your Stationary RV or Trailer Into a More Comfortable, Residential-Style Living Space

For this project, we completely redesigned the RV’s waste plumbing system. We removed the original holding tanks and RV toilet. Then, we installed a standard residential toilet with a powerful flush. We also replaced the existing drain system with new plumbing.

New drain lines were installed for the:

  • Kitchen sink
  • Bathroom sink
  • Shower
  • Toilet

All waste lines were connected underneath the trailer. We routed them into one main line leading directly to the sewer connection.

Watch the video below to see the complete installation process step by step.

Why Convert to a Direct Sewer System?

For permanent or long-term RV living, this conversion can simplify everyday use.

There are no holding tanks to fill or pump out. This also reduces tank-related buildup, clogs, odors, and maintenance. Instead, the plumbing works much more like a residential system.

This conversion can be a great option for:

  • RVs and travel trailers permanently parked on private property
  • Backyard RVs used as guest houses
  • Long-term RV living
  • Stationary trailers used as additional living space
  • Properties with access to an appropriate sewer connection

A More Permanent Solution for a Stationary RV

An RV holding-tank system makes sense when the vehicle is traveling. However, stationary RVs have very different plumbing needs. A properly designed direct sewer system provides a simpler, low-maintenance solution.

See the next video for another finished installation on two stationary travel trailers.

Custom Way LLC can redesign the plumbing around your specific RV or trailer. We can work with the kitchen, bathroom, shower, toilet, and main sewer connection.

If your RV stays permanently parked, consider replacing the traditional holding-tank system. This conversion can reduce maintenance and make everyday living more comfortable.
