Small Campervan Fridge Installation

Even the smallest travel trailer should have everything needed for a comfortable journey. The owner of this camper came to us with a request to install a new refrigerator – compact, stylish, and powerful. Check out the photos and video of our small campervan fridge installation in this project.

Process of Campervan Fridge Installation

To ensure safe operation and reliable performance, our team completed the full installation process step by step. We ran dedicated 110V and 12V power cables to support multiple power modes and installed a propane line for off-grid use. Proper ventilation was ensured by installing an exhaust pipe, allowing the fridge to operate efficiently and safely.

For stability and durability, we built a custom platform under the fridge and cut a wood frame around it for a secure fit and a clean, finished look. Every stage of the process was carefully planned and executed to meet safety standards and maximize functionality in a compact campervan space.

Watch the video below to see how the installation was done. You can see each stage of the work step by step.

How to Choose Campervan Fridge

There are several fridge options for campervans, each with different strengths.

  • Absorption refrigerators run on propane gas, 12V, or AC power and are quiet with flexible power choices, ideal for long trips off-grid.
  • Compressor fridges use 12V or 110V electricity and cool quickly and efficiently, even in hot weather.
  • Thermoelectric coolers are lightweight and simple but only cool slightly below ambient.

When planning a campervan gas fridge installation, consider space, power, and travel style.

  • Measure the available cabinet area and ventilation clearances carefully.
  • Choose a power option that matches your electrical system and off-grid needs.
  • Frequent off-grid travel favors gas or 12V compressor fridges.
  • Campsite-based travel works well with 110V electric models.
